39th Annual UCDA Design Competition

The judges of the 39th Annual UCDA Design Competition evaluated nearly 1,300 print and electronic media entries, awarding a total of 291 Awards of Excellence. The Fall 2008 issue of Sarah Lawrence Magazine, designed by Taylor Design, was selected to appear in the show. Work will be on display at the Seattle Marriott Waterfront Hotel from Saturday, October 3 – Tuesday, October 6, 2009.

CASE Awards Competition

We received notice from CASE (the Council for Advancement and Support of Education) that the alumni publication developed for Sarah Lawrence College, Sarah Lawrence Magazine, received a first place Grand Gold Award in the Circle of Excellence Awards competition.

Connecticut Art Director’s Club Awards Competition

Taylor Design is pleased to announce that it received four awards at the 2009 Connecticut Art Director’s Club Awards show at the Mystic Aquarium and Institute for Exploration on Thursday, June 18. We received a silver medal for the Villa Maria School Website (http://www.villamariaedu.org) and merit awards for the Keep America Beautiful 2008 Annual Report, the Sarah Lawrence College Alumni Magazine, and MasterCard’s “The Advisor” magazine, a business-to-business publication targeted to financial executives.

Team Taylor Design races in the RFR Realty Corporate 5K Run

From a field of over 1,000 competitors, John Rudolph placed 101, Mark Barrett placed 133, and Dan Taylor placed 327, earning team Taylor Design 23rd place in the 16th Annual RFR Realty Corporate 5K Race. This year’s event was extremely successful and the organization was able to raise over $80,000 to benefit the Boys & Girls Club of Stamford.

American Graphic Design & Advertising 25 Winners

Five of our studio’s entries were selected in the 2009 American Graphic Design & Advertising competition, including the 2008 Keep America Beautiful Annual Report, the 2008 King School Annual Report, Cleveland Institute of Art Admissions Materials, Sarah Lawrence College Magazine, and the identity program for TowerGroup. The work will be published in the American Graphic Design & Advertising 25 annual.

The judging for Creative Quarterly 15 is complete and the Sarah Lawrence Magazine was selected as a winner. Creative Quarterly is a journal that features the best of art and design, from advertising to architecture, from sculpture to jewelry. The entries will be displayed online at CQjournal.com.
