As digital screens become even bigger and more affordable to produce, animated murals and public art are beginning to evolve and expand in urban areas.
One such place is Seoul’s COEX Square, where a motion design studio named D’Strict created a huge ocean wave with an anamorphic illusion that wraps three sides of a shopping mall. It’s so realistic that it makes you jump when you see the wave coming.
With technology like this, we are soon to see more buildings and public spaces wrapped in screens to communicate and entertain. And as designers and artists, it’s going to be so much fun crafting these interactive experiences.
