Jurying the CT Regional Scholastic Art Awards

This year, I served as a judge for the 2021 Connecticut Regional Scholastic Awards competition. This program recognizes the best student artists in the state. This was my first time being an official juror, and it was the first time the competition was completely digital. Groups of jurors met in breakout rooms to review student artwork. Talking to these other talented artists and knowledgeable art professionals was a wonderfully fun and rich experience. I can’t wait to do it again given the opportunity. The students’ work was incredible and I was blown away by their technical skills and concepts. I came away from the experience inspired by a new generation of creators and thinkers. The winners and selected student artwork are now displayed in a virtual exhibition here: www.ctartawardsexhibit.net
