Thatcher Wine loves nothing more than the perfect jacket. One that tells a fantastic story and is aesthetically pleasing—on or off the shelf. Thatcher Wine is the founder of Juniper Books, which is not your typical bookshop. Juniper Books specializes in collections of books, custom sets created for bibliophiles and interior designers. Hundreds of anything but “off the shelf” sets are available for order. They create collections of beautifully designed jackets, intended to enhance personal or professional libraries of any size. Sets are organized by genre: from Shakespeare to skiing, to hundreds of titles, authors, and themes in between. In addition, Juniper Books will create one-of-a-kind sets for individuals, designers, or for specific venues such as corporate offices, restaurants, and retail establishments. A one-of-a-kind set may depict a famous landmark such as the Eiffel Tower or the Brooklyn Bridge. Sets may also be curated by color, sport, or design aesthetic, etc. The design of custom book jackets is a niche business—one that I was unfamiliar with.
