American Graphic Design Awards Competition

Taylor Design received three awards in the 2007 American Graphic Design Awards Competition, presented by Graphic Design USA Magazine. The projects honored include an annual report for Keep America Beautiful, a website for Keep America Beautiful, and an alumni publication for Sarah Lawrence College.

Biowave Appears on CBS Evening News

Biowave’s Deepwave® Pain Therapy System was the focus of the Health Segment on the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric. Dr. Jon LaPook, CBS’s Medical Director, narrated the segment called a Fresh Approach to Pain Relief. The segment can be viewed at www.cbsnews.com. Taylor Design created the branding program, user manuals, trade show booths, and marketing communications for the Deepwave system.

New Designer Joins the Team

We are pleased to announce that Kristin Shumway has joined the firm as junior designer. A Communications Design graduate of the State University of New York at Buffalo, Kristin received the 2007 Dean’s award for Excellence in Design, the 2007 Wolfgruber Creativity award, and was a 4-year member of the All College Honors Program. Her work was selected to be shown at the Design Student show in Bejing, China during the summer of 2007.

Connecticut Art Director’s Club Awards Competition

Taylor Design is pleased to announce that it received five awards at the 2007 Connecticut Art Director’s Club Awards show, including a gold award for the KAB Man website for Keep America Beautiful (http://www.kabman.org), and silver awards for the Taylor Design 2007 Calendar and the Keep America Beautiful 2006 Annual Report. The firm also received awards of excellence for the Holy Family University viewbook, and the Taylor Design summer promotion.

Sarah Mironchuk Joins the Team as a Designer

Sarah Mironchuk became a new TD employee on April 12, 2007. Sarah received a BFA in Graphic Design from Miami University in 2001. She then pursued a master’s degree in Graphic Arts Publishing and attended Rochester Institute of Technology, receiving an MFA in 2003. Sarah learned a great deal about packaging, color management, digital prepress workflows, print cost estimation, print finishing, 4-color offset and digital printing, and variable data output. Over the past several years, she has gained experience in marketing, management, and leadership, acting as an art director on a number of projects, including an interactive kiosk and corporate identity system for Proctor and Gamble. Most recently she worked as a senior designer for Two’s Company, a giftware company, creating package and identity design, supervising freelance designers, and developing a new standardization for tracking artwork.

Identity Program Included in Logo Lounge 4

An identity program created for Marble Hill Chocolatier, Cincinnati, OH, has been chosen for inclusion in the new book “Logo Lounge 4.” From the publisher: “Each judge reviewed thousands of logos from around the world, each mark submitted by talented LogoLounge members. With a total of over 28,000 logos judged, the judges chose 2,000 and the final collection is not only an excellent point-in-time examination, it is full to the brim with inspiration, higher thinking, and craftsmanship.” The new book will be released by Rockport Publishers in February of 2008. Admissions Advertising Awards Competition

The Admissions Marketing Report announced the winners in the Twenty-Second Annual Admissions Advertising Awards (http://www.hmrpublicationsgroup.com), a national competition that recognizes exceptional efforts in the field of admissions marketing and advertising. Taylor Design received a silver for Total Ad Campaign for St. Joseph’s College, a silver for Newspaper Ad for Holy Family University, a bronze for Total Recruitment Package for Holy Family University, and a bronze for Annual Report for Sacred Heart University.

Taylor Design received two awards in the 2007 American Corporate Identity Awards Competition. The firm won for the Keep America Beautiful 2006 Annual Report and the Taylor Design 2006 summer promotion.

John Rudolph Joins the Team as a Designer

We are pleased to announce that John Rudolph has joined the firm as designer, responsible for the development of identity programs, sales tools, and educational publications. John graduated from Syracuse University in 2005 with a BFA in Communications Design. Upon graduation, he began working as a staff designer at the Museum of Science and Technology in Syracuse, NY. A move to Connecticut followed, working first as an art director at Silver Creative Group in Norwalk and then as an art director at Brand Reality Group, also in Norwalk.
